Pinetree Garden Seeds is seeking a qualified General Manager to join our team and assist with managing company's operations at its headquarters in New Gloucester, Maine.

The General duties for the General Manager will include coordinating business operations, monitoring and motivating staff, managing operational costs, ensuring good customer service, improving administrative processes, hiring and training employees, identifying business opportunities, and monitoring financial activities.
Looking for creative problem solvers that understand the many hats required to run a small business.
A qualified candidate for General Manager should account for all business activities, support staff development, enhance efficiency, drive sales and improve revenue, ensure positive customer service, enhance the organization's image, and continuously strive to meet overall growth and performance objectives.
Responsibilities Overseeing daily business operations in the company HQ/ Warehouse Developing and implementing growth strategies along with company Owner Evaluating performance and productivity across departments and staff Generating reports on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis Setting internal policies and processes related to all aspects of operations Training low-level managers and staff Evaluating and improving operations and financial performance Directing the employee assessment process Ensuring staff compliance with health and safety regulations Developing and executing performance improvement measures, as necessary Creating and maintaining budgets, and presenting strategies to optimize expenses Providing solutions to issues (e.
g.
profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors) Overseeing Human Resources, assisting with payroll processing, and employee matters Overseeing management of inventory, sales, and AP/AR processes and reporting Coordinating with suppliers, vendors, and customers, as needed Representing the interests of the company's owner, communicating out and executing on their vision Other duties as assigned, or deemed necessary by company management Skills & Experience 3-5 years experience in a General Manager or Senior Supervisor role, or relevant experience/training preferred Strong knowledge of general business functions Budget development and management experience Excellent communication skills - written and verbal Proven leadership/management experience Proactive work ethic with a solutions-focused approach Independent and reliable self-starter Knowledge of inventory management systems or strong willingness to learn/master Knowledge of warehouse operations Basic knowledge of calculating product margins, sales prices, and production/shipping costs (or strong willingness to learn) Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs repeatedly Pinetree Garden Seeds is an equal opportunity employer Benefits Competitive Pay with base salary based on experience Career development and growth:
